MARYLAND OPERATION LIFESAVER

TAKE THIS SIGN SERIOUSLY!

Maryland Operation Lifesaver Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and increasing awareness of railroad crossing safety.  In addition to the State, there are several Federal and Local Government agencies as well as Highway Departments and Railroad Corporations working in conjunction with MDOL to prevent vehicle and pedestrian incidents at crossings and on railroad property.  Each year hundreds of people take chances with their lives and the lives of others by trying to beat the train across the tracks.  Most of them are not good gamblers...they lose.

A note to Presenters:  Presentations done in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County will count for 2 instead of one as far as incentive awards are concerned.  These are the counties we need to concentrate on.
